Configure a Database Instance
When you have used the Database Manager to add a database instance, you will need to configure that instance so that ClearSCADA can determine the server's role in the system architecture and which server features are available. You configure these settings for a database instance in the same way as you would configure the settings for any other ClearSCADA server - by using the Server Configuration Tool.
To access the Server Configuration Tool for a database instance, you will need to run the database instance so that its server icon is shown in the system tray (see Run the Server Icon for a Database Instance). When the icon is shown, right-click on it and then select Configuration from the context-sensitive menu. This will launch the Server Configuration Tool for the database instance.
The ClearSCADA Guide to Server Administration explains how to use the Server Configuration Tool.
NOTE: For information on the settings that you need to define when you first create a database instance, see Add a Database Instance.
